Professor Tokuji MIYASHITA
(Distinguished Professor, Tohoku University)
Director, Polymer Hybrid Materials (PHyM) Research Center, IMRAM, Tohoku University
Research Fields:
Our major research field is polymer material chemistry. Studies on the preparation of organized polymer assemblies aiming at the creation of new functional polymers applicable to "Nanotechnology" are carried out. We employ Langmuir-Blodgett technique as molecular architecture technology to fabricate tailor-made polymer assemblies by successive deposition of various polymer monolayers onto solid supports. We synthesize various functional amphiphilic polymers and investigate the following research;
- 1. Preparation of Nano-soft Polymer Materials using Langmuir-Blodgett Technique
- 2. Molecular Design of Photo- and Electro-functional Polymer Langmuir-Blodgett Films
- 3. Fabrication of Molecular Sensors based on Photoinduced Electron Transfer and Energy Transfer in Polymer LB Films
- 4. Nanoelectrochemistry using Redox Active Polymer LB Films and Application to Electrochemical Devices
- 5. Electroluminescence and Photoconductivity in Polymer LB Films
